Privacy Policy

How TechJapan LLC handles personal information. This is a translation for readers of this English-language site; the governing text is the Japanese original held by the company.

1. Basic policy

TechJapan LLC (the Company) recognizes the importance of personal information, complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other relevant laws and regulations, and handles personal information appropriately in accordance with the policy set out below.

2. Definition

In this policy, personal information means information about a living individual which can identify that specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address or other description contained in the information.

3. Collection

The Company collects personal information by lawful and fair means, and only to the extent necessary. The items collected are:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Company name and department
  • The inquiry category you select
  • The content of your inquiry

4. Purpose of use

The Company uses collected personal information for the following purposes:

  • Responding to inquiries
  • Providing and operating our services
  • Improving services and developing new ones
  • Sending important notices
  • Operating and administering seminars and events, including registration, guidance and on-the-day support
  • Usage analytics of this website (Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4)
Personal information provided through a seminar registration form may additionally be used jointly with the co-hosting companies of that seminar. Where joint use applies, the names of the businesses involved, the purpose of use, the items shared and the party responsible for management are stated on that seminar’s registration screen, and the information is collected only with your consent. Co-hosting companies observe personal information management standards equivalent to the Company’s.
Two technical processes also run on this site. Pages carry Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics 4 for usage analytics. And before the contact form is submitted, the domain of the entered email address is checked for a mail server via Cloudflare’s public DNS service; only the domain, never the full address, is sent for that check.

5. Provision to third parties

Except where required by law, the Company does not provide personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual. Personal information of seminar registrants may be provided to that seminar’s co-hosting companies solely for the purpose of operating the seminar, as described in section 4.

6. Security measures

The Company takes necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of personal information and otherwise to manage it securely.

7. Disclosure, correction and deletion

Where an individual requests disclosure, correction or deletion of their personal information, the Company will verify their identity and respond promptly.
