You are paying for seats nobody sat in.
MiiHawk optimizes employee shuttle bus operations for factories across Southeast Asia. Boarding data comes from an NFC tap or a QR scan on an ordinary phone; a mathematical optimization engine turns it into a minimum-cost dispatch plan. Reported effect: up to 40 percent less shuttle bus cost.

Shuttle contracts are usually sized from a headcount somebody assumed years ago and nobody has re-examined since. The first thing MiiHawk produces is not a saving; it is the evidence of who actually rode, which is frequently the more uncomfortable number.
The optimizer then solves for vehicle combination and fleet size: which vehicles, how many, on which run. That is a different problem from GPS route guidance, and conflating the two is how shuttle software ends up optimizing turn-by-turn directions for a bus that should not have been dispatched at all.
Ghost routes and inflated invoices become visible for the same reason. Once boarding is recorded at the door, a run that carried nobody cannot be billed as if it carried forty people.

Run two routes for two weeks.
Two weeks of real boarding data on two routes is usually enough to see whether the contracted fleet matches the fleet you need.
